My Top 5 Shifter Romances

Shifter, oh shifters. I adore it when humans and transform into critters. My favorite are wolves, which I established in a previous post. Though, I have read other creatures. So, I'm not a complete purest. I'm going to share my favorite shifter romance novels (please remember, these are based on my opinion and it is not fact). And I'd love to know who your top five are too.

5. The Caged Wolf (The Tarot Witches #1) by S.M. Reine

Okay, so I struggled with this. I know, if I struggled, why is it on my list? This book combined my two favorite things: Wolf shifters and Motorcycle clubs - SWOON.

I liked Ofelia. she was strong sexy and the whole witchy thing -- I'm in. Trouble being chained up - I am in twice.

Why did I struggle?

After reading this one, it left me hungry for more wolves and bikers. I didn't get that in the rest of the series. I got a rock star and wolves and then I don't even know what I got in book three. I don't even want to talk about book three. I was traumatized.

So, while I loved The Caged Wolf, the rest of the Tarot Witches series fell short -- thus the struggle.

4. Feral (Paranormal Peacekeepers #2) by Lucretia Stanhope

Okay, this one isn't really a romance. It's on my list because I just really liked the book and there was definitely the hint of something that could be there, but it didn't go there. This is my list so I get to put what I want on it!

I read this after meeting the author in a Facebook group. I'm so thankful I did. It's a really good book. The plot was fantastic. I enjoyed the way she depicted the wolf shifters (except for the bipedal wolf thing -- which I believe I already discussed in a mother post is not my thing.

It's written well, and I think you'd enjoy it, even though it's got no heat.

3. Blackwing Wolf (Kane's Mountains #2) by TS Joyce

I like it when an author gives characters defense mechanisms. Dustin, the wolf shifter in Blackwing Wolf is humourous but shady. I enjoyed him. I loved the way he came in with this nefarious intent but by is totally redeemed by the end of the book.

Plus there are dragons. As I write this, I realize I haven't read nearly enough dragon shifter books. I will have to fix that. I will need your recommendations for Dragon shifters.

2. Feral Sins (Phoenix Pack #1) by Suzanne Wright

Suzanne Wright wasn't my first toe-dip into paranormal romance. That honor belongs to the great Anne Rice. She was, however, the first paranormal romance author I binge read. The Phoenix Pack Series (and subsequently, the Mercury Pack Series) I could not get enough of. I devoured those books.

Her writing is flawless. Her characters are so perfectly defined and humourous. They feel real. As far as Feral Sins goes, it's the perfect introduction to a new world. The dynamic between Taryn and Trey was perfect. They are two dominants and they show it. Stupendously written and I cannot recommend her enough.

  1. Black Moon (Alpha Pack #3) by JD Tyler

See! While wolves are my favorite, my favorite book isn't even a wolf, it's a panther.

So, let's talk about Kalen Black. He is a panther shifter who is also a necromancer. Silky and sexy but also a bit of an outsider.

My favorite scene is when he's -- okay that's a spoiler. Sorry, I can't.

Kalen joins the alpha pack - A group of former Navy SEALS, the Alpha Pack is a top-secret team of wolf shifters with Psy powers combating the greatest dangers in the world.

He's young and powerful and this book is his story about his battle between the light and dark side within himself.

So, what are you reading? Who are your top five. Give me your recommendations! Who should I read?
